GPB Students Excel in Grad Slam Competition
5 GPB students advanced to the final round of the 2019 UCLA Grad Slam competition. Taking the top honors, Nyasha Maforo (Physics and Biology in Medicine), will receive a $5000 grant and will compete at the all-UC Grad Slam competition on Friday, May 10th at the LinkedIn Headquarters in San Francisco. Additionally, Allison Daly (Immunity, Microbes & Molecular Pathogenesis) won 2nd prize ($3000) and 3 other students were selected as finalists (Aleksandr Gorin – Immunity, Microbes & Molecular Pathogenesis, Alexander Sercel – Immunity, Microbes & Molecular Pathogenesis, and Allyson Terry – Molecular Pharmacology).
