Five UCLA professors named fellows by American Association for the Advancement of Science
Five UCLA professors have been honored as fellows of the American Association for the Advancement of Science (AAAS), three of which serve as faculty mentors in the Graduate Programs in Bioscience. Linda Baum (Cell & Developmental BiologyImmunity, Microbes & Molecular Pathogenesis – pictured above), Ann M. Hirsch (Genetics & GenomicsImmunity, Microbes & Molecular Pathogenesis), and Michael Stephen Levine (Neuroscience) along with Dwight W. Read (Anthropology & Statistics) and Pamela Munro (Linguistics) will receive commendation at the AAAS Fellows Forum in San Jose, California on February 14, 2015. In total, 401 members are awarded this honor by “The World’s Largest General Scientific Society” for their scientifically or socially distinguished efforts to advance science or its applications.
